The Challenge:

Shoana Prasad of Glenwood Consulting Inc. needed a redesign of her website. Glenwood is a presentation skills coaching service and Shoana is a classy yet fun-loving character. I needed to capture Shoana’s essence without alienating her clientele. While her old site was not unappealing, it lacked some modern functionality such as responsiveness and had a few technical issues that needed tweaking.

After the site was redesigned, Shoana asked me to design a promotional piece that serves as Glenwood’s online résumé.

Before:

Design. Although not unappealing, the design needed to be freshened up and had to work with today’s modern trends. Some of the process infographics were confusing.

Navigation. Some of the links were broken and some led to repetitive content, leading at times to a frustrating experience.

Functionality. The website was only built for desktop computers; it could not be viewed efficiently on mobile devices. Videos were hosted on the site server which led to sluggish playing. A static html site limited the possibility of an integrated future blog.

AFTER:

Design. Retaining the beautiful photography of Kerry Shaw as the main backdrop for an animated message, it was contrasted against a breath of fresh white. Infographics were simplified and streamlined to better explain Shoana’s process. Fresh photographs of Shoana showed off her whimsical side while still retaining her professionalism.

Navigation. Navigation now leads to logical pages. No more broken links and redundant content has been removed. Calls to action have been added to help user move through the site.

Functionality. We produced a completely mobile-friendly site that can be viewed on any type of device, big or small. The videos were hosted on YouTube for a better viewing experience. The site was now built on WordPress, allowing for user-friendly edits and the potential for a future blog within the site.

Credentials Page:

Shoana needed to present Glenwood’s offerings to potential clients in a concise and palatable way. I served up a two page Credentials Sheet covering it all. The piece can be sent as a pdf or printed and mailed out.
